Prof. Dr. Philipp Öffner

Academic Career

I studied mathematics at the University of Würzburg (Dipl.-Math., 2010), earned my doctorate at TU Braunschweig (Dr. rer. nat., 2015), and completed my habilitation at the University of Zurich (venia legendi in Mathematics, 2021). As a postdoctoral researcher, I worked at TU Braunschweig (2015–2018), the University of Zurich (2018–2020), and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (2020–2023). Additionally, I have already substituted professorships at JGU Mainz (2021 & 2023) and TU Clausthal since 2023.

Since February 2025, I have held the position of Full Professor of Numerical Mathematics at TU Clausthal.
